Captain O'Kane, harp
Captain O'Kane, harp
Feel the solitude of gently rolling waves in this beautiful intermediate harp arrangement of Turlough O'Carolan's CAPTAIN O'KANE. This traditional Irish tune pairs beautifully with Mermaid's Tears and both are written in E minor for intermediate harp.
Right hand fingerings and chord symbols have been included throughout the score. The left hand uses 10th patterns and some slightly more advanced rhythms for expressive texture.

This is my favourite tune at the moment and the first to play every time I play my harp.
Thanks to your very clear arrangements, the fingering and brackets, I brought it from
A simple wish to this level with only a couple of harplessons. (Unfortunately my harpteacher emigrated.) It is such a joy to play! Every new tune gives me progress (-;
Hi Katelijne, it sounds like you are making amazing progress! Congratulations, that's such a rewarding feeling! - Anne
I love this piece, it's a beautiful tune of course, but it has been arranged so nicely and was just the right kind of challenge for me to prepare as a performance piece. Thanks!
I love playing this one too! Glad it fits your hands so nicely! Thanks for your kind review. - Anne
As I late beginner, I took a chance on this intermediate piece, because it was just too lovely to pass up! I’ve enjoyed working on it and after about four weeks I’m about 85% there! It’s definitely encouraged me to look for more long-form arrangements to supplement the tunes in my method books. Thank you!!
Good for you! It's so motivating to start learning the music you are drawn to play. Sounds like you are well on your way! - Anne
