Mermaid's Tears, harp

Thank you Anne for sharing this lovely haunting piece. It sits under my fingers very comfortably, and sounds beautiful even at a slower pace than you've indicated. every piece of yours that I play becomes my new favourite!

I had a lot of fun learning this song. It was easy to break down into sections and while I would have loved to have the fingering numbered, I felt quite proud that I figured out a pattern that worked for me! This song helped me learn new skills and enjoy the process of learning and the progress of having a new, beautiful song in my repertoire!

Mermaid's Tears is the first piece of harp music I memorized. It falls nicely under the hand and makes great use of patterns which make it easier to remember. Before Anne told me the background story, I had researched what mermaid's tears are said to be, in folklore. Knowing the true background added another layer of meaning to my interpretation. This will remain one of my very favourite of Anne's pieces.

This is an incredible musical tribute to your sister, Anne - thank you for sharing it with others. It has become one of my favorite pieces to play, and a great compliment with Celtic selections.
