About Anne Crosby Gaudet
Welcome to Music Discoveries.
I'm Anne Crosby Gaudet, a composer, music educator, and independent publisher from beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada. For more than 30 years I've had the privilege of helping people discover the joy of making music. Today I teach adult harpists around the world through private online lessons, thoughtfully crafted sheet music, video courses, and my Music Discoveries YouTube channel.

My professional musical journey began at the piano, where I earned a Master's degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Michigan and spent decades teaching children and young musicians. While those years shaped me as a teacher, discovering the harp opened an entirely new chapter.
When I picked up my first harp in 2011, I became an adult beginner again.
Learning a new instrument later in life gave me a fresh perspective on music education. I experienced firsthand the excitement, uncertainty, and satisfaction that come with learning something new. It reminded me that meaningful progress doesn't happen through rushing. It comes from patience, curiosity, thoughtful practice, and celebrating small victories along the way.
That experience continues to shape everything I create.
Whether I'm composing an original piece, arranging a favourite melody, recording a tutorial, or working with a student in a lesson, my goal is always the same: to meet each musician where they are and help them discover the next step with confidence.
Over the years I've published hundreds of original compositions and arrangements for harp and piano, many of which are enjoyed by musicians around the world. My piano compositions are featured in the examination syllabi of the Royal Conservatory of Music, the London College of Music, and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Every piece is written with intention—not only to be beautiful and expressive, but to offer meaningful opportunities for growth as a musician.
I have a special love for teaching adult learners. Their curiosity, life experience, and willingness to embrace new challenges make every lesson rewarding. Working with so many adult harpists has given me a deep understanding of how people interact with a score, where confidence can falter, and where the greatest joy in making music is often found.
Many of my original compositions are inspired by the landscapes and changing seasons of Nova Scotia or by quiet moments from everyday life. Composing feels much like keeping a journal. I enjoy paying attention to small moments of inspiration and allowing each piece to unfold naturally, creating music that invites players to slow down, listen deeply, and express themselves.
My hope is that Music Discoveries is more than a place to find sheet music. I hope it becomes a place where you feel encouraged, supported, and inspired to continue growing as a musician, no matter where you are on your musical journey.
