THE STORMY SEA is a dramatic solo for early intermediate piano. Students love the arpeggio patterns that swoop up the keyboard like crashing waves. It is a wonderful piece for teaching 6/8 rhythms. The middle section gives students the opportunity to block triads as a practice strategy. The Stormy Sea is included in the Royal Conservatory of Music Exam Syllabus for level 3.
