STAR OF THE COUNTY DOWN is a traditional Irish tune, also known as Kingsfold, and is widely used as a hymn tune, including "I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say". In this harp arrangement, I explore a more haunting and expressive approach, offering a departure from how the tune is most often heard.
The opening right-hand melody creates a sense of stillness, while subtle harmonic tension unfolds throughout the piece. Written for the mid-intermediate harpist, this arrangement includes fingering support to help with crossing hand passages and more advanced finger placing, allowing you to focus on shaping the music with confidence and ease.
