Download and print Accidental Ewe for a fun piano lesson activity that helps reinforce the concept of sharps and flats. Kids love watching for the enharmonic equivalents.
Stack up the ewe cards and have your student name and play each note on the piano. Be on the look-out for enharmonic equivalents, that's when F sharp and G flat appear in sequence. In my studio, if an enharmonic equivalent appears we cheer "enharmonic equivalent!!" and the student gets a jellybean.
Accidental Ewe now comes in two levels. In Level 1 children will find sharps and flats on the piano using letter names. In Level 2 students will be reading notes in the treble and bass clef. Either way watch for the enharmonic equivalents!
