Try to Remember

I grew up listening to all the Broadway musicals. We had a stack of records that I played again and again. I knew every song by heart.

One of my favorites was (and still is) the 1960 musical, The Fantasticks. It's about two neighbors who scheme to trick their children into falling in love.

Even if you aren't familiar with the show, I bet you've heard it's most memorable song, "Try to Remember".

I've created an elementary harp arrangement that is well-suited for small harps. It's simple to play, but beautifully captures the carefree waltzing character of this classic song.

"Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh, so mellow"

As a side story, when I was a teenager an older gentleman in my neighborhood hired me to visit him for an hour every week to play piano as he sang all of his favorite songs. "Try to Remember" was one of his regulars. So this one is for Mr. Flecknell.

Are you interested in the sheet music for this song? If so, you can purchase it at Sheet Music Plus.

Try to Remember, harp sheet music and video course

I'm happy to announce that I also have an Elementary Video Course to help you learn this song. Would you find step-by-step guidance helpful in your practice? This course is designed to provide extra support for reading the music and playing hands together. Learn more at my Podia website.

I hope you enjoy the new arrangement!
