The Lord's My Shepherd & Sweet Hour of Prayer

Sometimes a familiar tune can bring up mixed emotions for people, so I have taken the rhythm from "The Lord's My Shepherd" and created a new melody. This allows you, as the harpist to play with intention while the listener perceives a sense of comfort and familiarity without directly recognizing the tune. In my harp therapy practice "Sweet Hour of Prayer" is a favorite with my long term care patients. This arrangement includes a second verse with some variations.

5 Easy Hymns

A collection of five favorite hymn tunes that you can feel confident sharing with your friends and family. These arrangements are accessible for elementary players with fingering and brackets clearly indicated. Each hymn includes a second version with no fingering or brackets for those who want to practice choosing and writing in their own fingering solutions. With just a handful of low Gs, these arrangements are easily adapted to small harps.

All 5 pieces are written with a G Major key signature. This allows you to create a beautiful medley of hymn tunes without worrying about lever changes. Chord symbols are included to encourage you to improvise with your left hand patterns. Use the Intro and Ending chord progression suggestions to help you further embellish each piece.
